  • Career Guidance

My brand of career guidance counselling offers a review process to dispel the confusion that individuals at a career crossroads often feel. It is a space for reflection and enquiry into the questions, dilemmas and inner conflicts that arise in the struggle to manifest a fulfilling, meaningful career and give time to consider what specifically needs to change. For instance:

  • Time to re-evaluate and consider your next step?
  • Got an idea but not sure if you are ready to take the risk?
  • Confused about what you are truly good at?
  • Confused about what you want?
  • Don’t know if the problem is the job or the company?
  • Stuck and unclear about your choices?
  • Feeling the pressure of demands and expectations?
  • Job’s not too bad but not sure it’s what you want to do forever!

  • Although this can be a single session or two depending on your needs and situation, more often it requires an in-depth exploration which takes 4 to 6 sessions. My role is to provide and facilitate that process and assist you to identify external sources of additional information. For more detailed information on the process read Career Guidance or Email or call 0833518131.

    Career Coaching

Career Coaching is a space for you to stand back and gather your thoughts about how your career is evolving. For instance, if you in a management role, it might be an opportunity to think about how satisfying that is and what support you need, while you reflect on how you can support and develop your own team. Alternatively, the space can be used to prepare for an important meeting, presentation or event. The meeting's agenda is down to you and how you want to use the space. Some ideas of how it could be used:

  • You might benefit from an objective sounding board
  • Is management a choice or a consequence of promotion?
  • Identify what’s working well or what feels like a struggle
  • Clarify your management and leadership style and vision
  • Consider your strategy for implementation of change or vision
  • Prepare for a performance review, stakeholder or management meeting
  • Reflect on the culture your management style creates
  • Consider what you would like from your own manager
  • Consider your options for the future based on what you want
  • Win hearts and minds; manage the task, lead the operation and the people

  • We can get caught up in managing the demands of others, including the organisation we work for and let our own development needs, feelings and ideas slide in the process. Career Coaching provides a space to attend to those individual needs either as a one-off, a few or intermittent sessions. My role is to facilitate and both give space and assistance to teasing out whatever is pertinent for you in your particular circumstances.

    Interview Coaching

Focused interview preparation with one to one coaching and training is particularly useful if you are feeling a bit rusty, time limited or in need of some objective input, tips, practice and techniques.

As an interview coach my job is to help you tease out the information – evidence – that would help you demonstrate your abilities in response to competency based interview questions and present your answers in a clear, relevant and engaging way.

    How does it work?

  • You send me a copy of the job description in advance (if you have one)
  • We meet face to face for one hour and identify what you want from the session
  • We explore the meaning of competencies, tease out examples, use STAR technique and feedback

I will provide guidance notes on how to prepare for and answer standard competency based interview questions. Return to top of page.

  • CV Writing Service

I provide a professional CV Writing service tailored to the needs of individuals from all fields of work and at all career stages (students, graduates, experienced professionals/trades/operatives, and returners) within the private, self-employed and public sectors.

The purpose of a resume is to give the reader a clear indication of what you can bring to their organisation based on your experience do date. It should communicate your abilities, competencies, experience, expertise, attitudes, skills and unique characteristics in an accessible and clearly written manner.

    How does it work?

  • A Face to Face CV Writing session lasting up to an hour and a half
